Tamil superstar and professional racer Ajith Kumar has safely returned to India after being stranded in the Gulf region for nearly two weeks due to escalating tensions in the Middle East. The actor landed at Chennai International Airport on the evening of March 10, 2026, bringing relief to fans who had been concerned about his safety.
The travel disruption came after a sudden escalation in the regional conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran, which led to widespread airspace closures across several countries in the Gulf. As a result, flights were suspended across parts of the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and Iraq, leaving thousands of travellers stranded in the region.

Following his return, videos of Ajith Kumar arriving in Chennai quickly went viral on social media. In one clip, the actor is seen coming down the escalator inside the airport while handling his luggage. Another video shows him loading bags into a car outside the airport while a crowd of eager fans gathers around hoping to catch a glimpse of the star. However, given the circumstances surrounding his sudden return, Ajith appeared to be in a hurry and did not stop to pose for photographs.

The actor had been stationed in Abu Dhabi for intensive training ahead of his upcoming professional motorsports commitments. He was originally scheduled to fly back to Chennai on February 28 but had to return from the airport after flight operations were abruptly suspended due to security concerns following coordinated airstrikes in the region.
During the 12-day period, Ajith remained in Dubai, where his manager Suresh Chandra kept fans updated, assuring them that the actor was safe and in good health. Ajith’s stay in the UAE was linked to his preparation for the Michelin Le Mans Cup 2026 season. Known for his passion for motorsports, the actor has increasingly devoted time to professional racing while continuing his film career.
With his return to India, Ajith is expected to resume work on his upcoming film AK64, which will be directed by Adhik Ravichandran.
