Fans of Allu Arjun may have a major reason to celebrate this year on April 8. According to recent reports from Variety India, the makers of the upcoming Atlee directorial, currently referred to as AA26xA6, are planning a special reveal to mark the Telugu superstar’s birthday. If reports are accurate, the team is preparing to unveil the official title of the much-anticipated project along with a teaser-style announcement video.
The announcement is expected to serve as the first official asset from the film, offering audiences an early glimpse into the ambitious cinematic universe being crafted for the project. Sources indicate that the clip will briefly introduce Allu Arjun’s character and set the tone for what is being described as a massive spectacle.
“The title announcement video will blow everyone’s mind. It’s just a first look into the massive, unprecedented universe Atlee has created. It’s packed with cutting-edge visuals, showcasing Allu Arjun in avatars never seen before. Atlee has gone beyond expectations in crafting a one-of-a-kind spectacle for Indian cinema,” a source reportedly revealed.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the untitled film is mounted on a staggering reported budget of around Rs. 800 crores, making it one of the most expensive and visually ambitious projects ever attempted in Indian cinema. Unlike traditional mass entertainers, the film is said to move into high-concept territory, blending science fiction with commercial storytelling.
Industry buzz suggests that Atlee is building a VFX-heavy parallel universe set in a post-apocalyptic world. Within this expansive narrative, Allu Arjun is reportedly expected to portray as many as four different roles, spanning multiple generations of a family. Meanwhile, the rest of the casting of the film has also generated considerable excitement. Deepika Padukone has reportedly been cast as the leading lady, while Rashmika Mandanna is expected to play a key role. Industry chatter also suggests that actors like Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and Jim Sarbh may appear in important parts, though an official confirmation on the extended cast is still awaited.
Currently being filmed in Mumbai, the production is reportedly aiming to wrap principal photography by September 2026. With VFX being handled by top-tier international studios, the makers are targeting a grand theatrical release in 2027.
If the planned birthday reveal goes ahead as expected, the April 8 announcement could mark the first major step in unveiling what is being positioned as one of the biggest cinematic events in the making.
