The trailer for Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's next film 12th Man was released on Tuesday, which is also the first day of the Malayalam calendar's Chingam month. In addition to wishing his fans a happy birthday, Mohanlal also shared a few photos from the film's premiere.
The film began production with a traditional puja, however Mohanlal was not present because he was in Hyderabad filming another project. Among those in attendance were director Jeethu Joseph, producer Antony Perumbavoor, and actor Unni Mukundan.
Mohanlal's fourth collaboration with Jeethu Joseph is 12th Man. The two initially worked together on the criminal thriller Drishyam, which was a box office success. They also cooperated on the sequel Drishyam 2, which was released on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year. Prior to Drishyam 2, the pair began filming Ram, an action thriller. However, due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the research was put on hold. The film's production has been halted as the creators wait for the appropriate opportunity to travel abroad to restart filming.
Mohanlal is now in the process of filming Bro Daddy. In addition to directing the film, Prithviraj Sukumaran plays a key role in it. Meena, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Lalu Alex, Murali Gopy, Kaniha, and Soubin Shahir also star in the film.
The production work on Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz is also underway.
