PVR INOX Pictures has confirmed that The Furious, the British thriller directed by David Mackenzie, will now release in Indian cinemas on June 19, moving from its previously scheduled date of April 24.

The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Sam Worthington.
Set in central London, The Furious centres on the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb at a busy construction site. The find triggers a large-scale evacuation, which a criminal crew exploits to carry out a bank heist. The screenplay is written by Ben Hopkins.
Mackenzie previously directed Hell or High Water (2016), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, and Starred Up (2013). The Furious had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.
“The Furious is a story about urgency, courage and the unseen dangers that history can leave behind. It’s a thriller that keeps you invested from the first moment to the last,” Mackenzie said.
The producers said, “We are excited to bring The Furious to audiences on 19th June. We believe this new release date positions the film perfectly and allows us to present the movie at its full potential.”
The Furious is produced by Anton and Sigma Films. Cinematography is by Giles Nuttgens, with editing by Matt Mayer and music by Tony Doogan. PVR INOX Pictures distributes the film in India, where it releases in cinemas on June 19, 2026.
