Hollywood actor Richard Gere was among the celebrities who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 9th International Yoga Day at United Nations Headquarters in New York on June 21.
Ahead of the event, Gere spoke to ANI and said, “He (PM Modi) is a product of Indian culture and comes from a vast place as Indian culture does. This sense of universal brotherhood and sisterhood is the message we want to hear again and again.” Gere was performing some asanas led by PM Modi. In one of the photos, he was also seen hugging the politician.

The PM Narendra Modi-led event created a Guinness World Record for the participation of people of most nationalities in a yoga event.
