The newly released posters for Resident Evil take the audience into a chilling world of fear, isolation and survival ahead of its release on 18th September, 2026. Featuring haunting snow-covered highways, deserted streets and an atmosphere filled with unknown danger, director Zach Cregger assures fans of the iconic franchise that the film has up the stakes and the tensions are palpable.

It's clear that Zach Cregger, best known for his horror works such as the Oscar-nominated film Weapons and the widely acclaimed film, Barbarian, is all set to take us on another horrifyingly thrilling journey.
Along with the posters, the team also released a video in which director Cregger opened up about making the film. "Resident Evil is the kind of flagship for horror. Horror, it's not action. What I love about survival horror games and Resident Evil mostly is this overwhelming feeling of dread, where it’s like, I have to go down this long dark passageway, I only have two shotgun shells, I know there’s a lot of shit in there waiting for me, and it’s all really bad… but I have to go. So, I have this idea for a story in the world of Resident Evil, it's kind of like me if I were dropped into the world of the Resident Evil game. I'm terrible at guns, I wouldn't know how any of them work, and I’d miss 99 per cent of all of my shots. I love the games. I played the games; I don't know how many thousands of hours, but too many. This is an opportunity for me to be loyal to the games in spirit and in tone and build a story that just puts you in that scenario again and again and again with increasing stakes," he said.
