Pirates of the Caribbean loses its Captain! Johnny Depp refuses to return to Disney film

In a surprising turn of events, acclaimed actor Johnny Depp has made it clear that he will never return to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, despite rumours of a lucrative offer to reprise his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow. Sources close to the star have revealed that Depp remains deeply upset with the way Disney studios handled his departure during the highly publicised Amber Heard abuse case.

For the unversed, last week Disney Studios President Sean Bailey's noncommittal stance on Depp's return grabbed global headlines, leading many to speculate that the door was still open for the actor. However, a report by Daily Mail has quoted a close friend of Depp suggesting that he has spent considerable time reflecting on his future and has concluded that appearing in a Disney film no longer interests him.

The wounds from the past still run deep for Depp, who felt blindsided by Disney's decision to sever ties with him when the accusations of domestic abuse first emerged. Despite winning his court case in Virginia last year, Depp believes that the studio acted hastily and without considering the facts. A close friend of Depp's stated, "They blind-dropped him even though Amber had lied her a** off."

The source also added that Johnny has firmly resolved that he will never accept any sum of money or even a cameo role to return to Disney. Furthermore, the likelihood of him being enticed by any other studio film in the future is “highly unlikely”.
