Matthew Perry laid to rest; entire Friends cast gather for the private funeral in Los Angeles

Popular Hollywood actor Matthew Perry, known for his beloved character Chandler Bing in Friends, passed away on Saturday, October 28. The actor was 54 and was found dead at his Los Angeles-area home. As per the TMZ report, the actor was found in a jacuzzi at the residence, and the first responders were immediately called for cardiac arrest. However, no foul play was reported, and no drugs were found at the scene. The late actor was laid to rest on Friday, November 3, during a private funeral which was attended by Friends stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Le Blanc and David Schwimmer.

As per a report in People publication, Matthew Perry was laid to rest in the presence of his family and close friends at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles. The report states, "It’s also the final resting place of notable names such as Paul Walker, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds and Nipsey Hussle. The funeral began at around 3 pm before ending around 5 pm."

Following his death, in a joint statement, the Friends stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Le Blanc and David Schwimmer, said, “We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”

Matthew Perry was born to John Bennett Perry, Suzanne Morrison who split less than a year after his birth. He was also close to his stepfather, Dateline journalist Keith Morrison. He was best known for playing Chandler Bing on Friends from 1994 to 2004 for 10 seasons. He also went on to work on many projects in TV and movies including Ally McBeal, The West Wing, Fools Rush In and 17 Again.
