Lollapalooza India 2025 concluded at Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Racecourse yesterday on March 9, drawing large crowds for a two-day music festival featuring international and Indian artists. Organized by BookMyShow Live, along with global producers Perry Farrell and C3 Presents, the festival showcased diverse performances spanning rock, pop, electronic, hip-hop, and indie genres.
Green Day made their India debut at the festival, performing hits such as ‘Boulevard of Broken Dreams’ and ‘American Idiot’, while Louis Tomlinson engaged the audience with ‘Drag Me Down’ and ‘Night Changes’. Electronic artist John Summit turned the venue into a dancefloor with his beats, and rapper Hanumankind delivered energetic performances, collaborating with Yashraj on Enemies.
Other notable performances included Aurora’s atmospheric vocals on ‘Runaway’, South Korean indie-rock band Wave to Earth’s dreamlike set, and Nothing But Thieves’ rock anthems like ‘Amsterdam’. Brazilian DJ Alok maintained the festival’s energy with his dance music. Indian artists also had a strong presence, with Raftaar X KR$NA performing rap hits, and Niladri Kumar’s sitar blending classical and modern sounds. Lisa Mishra, Raman Negi, and indie acts like Green Park and Raghav Meattle added variety to the lineup.
The festival emphasized sustainability and accessibility through its #LollaForChange initiative. Efforts included reducing waste through plastic-free zones and recycling, as well as providing surplus food to underprivileged communities. Measures for inclusivity included sign language interpreters, accessible facilities for people with disabilities, and gender-neutral washrooms.
Food and beverage options were curated through the Lolla Food Park, offering over 70 brands and global cuisines. Facilities such as shaded zones, misting systems, and hydration stations aimed to enhance attendee comfort. Additional services included help desks, a child safety wristband system, and earplugs for younger attendees.
The festival also featured interactive brand activations from sponsors like H&M, Johnnie Walker, Corona, and NEXA, integrating fashion, art, and technology. Cricket updates were screened throughout the event for fans following the ICC Championships Trophy.
As the event concluded, Lollapalooza India reinforced its presence as a major music festival, bringing together international and local talent while incorporating sustainability and audience engagement efforts.
