Lee Jae Wook and Jo Bo Ah in talks to star in new historical romance drama Tangeum

South Korean actors Lee Jae Wook and Jo Bo Ah are currently in talks to star in new historical romance drama Tangeum. According to the Korean tabloid Soompi, Tangeum is a mystery romance drama about Jae Yi, the daughter born between danju (the owner of a merchant's guild in the Joseon Dynasty) Shim Yeol Guk and a surrogate woman, and Hong Rang, Shim Yeol Guk’s son born through his wife.

As per the report, the actors are currently reviewing the offers to star in the drama. Lee Jae Wook has been offered the role of male lead character Hong Rang. Meanwhile, Jo Bo Ah has been offered as the female lead Jae Yi.

The new mystery romance drama will be directed by Kim Hong Seon. The director has previously worked on dramas like Decoy: part 1 and Decoy: part 2, The Guest, The Voice, and Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.

On the work front, Lee Jae Wook made his debut in Memories of the Alhambra in 2018. And went on to star in 2019 film The Battle of Jangsari, and dramas like Search: WWW, Alchemy of Souls, Extraordinary You, Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol among others.

Meanwhile, Jo Bo Ah starred in dramas like Shut Up! Flower Boy Band (2012), Surplus Princess (2014), Missing Noir M (2015), All About My Mom (2015), The Man Living in Our House (2016) and Degree of Love (2017), Tale of the Nine Tailed and more.
