From Jung Hae In-starrer D.P 2 to Kim So Hyun-Hwang Min Hyun starrer My Lovely Liar & The Uncanny Counter 2 – 6 K-dramas to add to your watch-list in July 2023

The monsoon season is set in India, and the weather calls for some chill binge sessions over the weekend with a hot cuppa or two! The month of July sees the return of fan-favourite shows like The Uncanny Counter, D.P. and fan-favourite actors like Jung Hae In, Kim Se Jeong, and Kim So Hyun among others. There are also new stories like a murder mystery in ‘Longing For You’ starring Na In Woo, and a comedy story of a mother-daughter duo in Not Others starring Girls' Generation's Sooyoung. Let’s take a closer look at the upcoming K-dramas in July 2023.

D.P. SEASON 2
After the high success of season one, Netflix K-drama ‘D.P.’ is making a comeback with season two. In the first season, we saw Ahn Jun Ho (Jung Hae In) face a life-changing situation. The sequel will pick up after the events of season one and Jun Ho will now face a new challenge as he figures out how to escape capture by the military and survive. The series arrives on Netflix on 28, 2023.

2. MY LOVELY LIAR
Kim So Hyun charmed the audience with her performance in the hit teen rom-com Love Alarm. Now, the actress is back with another fantasy rom-com story My Lovely Liar alongside Hwang Min Hyun of NU’EST. Mok Sol Hee (Kim So Hyun) can detect when other people are lying. Hwang Min Hyun appears as Kim Do Ha, a music producer who is accused of murder. As the two cross paths and try to clear Do Ha’s name, they eventually fall in love. The series premieres on July 24, 2023.

3. SHADOW DETECTIVE 2
Veteran actor Lee Seung Min returns as the hardworking detective Kim Tae Rok with Shadow Detective. In season one, we see that Kim Tae Rok receives a mysterious phone call from “a friend”. In this season, we will see him solving the mystery behind that phone call and also solving cases at his new unit, the juvenile crimes division. The drama will air on Disney+ Hotstar on July 5.

4. NOT OTHERS
Veteran actress plays the role of Jeon Hye Jin, the mother of the 29-year-old Jin Hee (played by Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung). The mother-daughter duo is constantly locking horns with each other but shares an unbreakable bond nonetheless. Their lives change when new men who could be potential love interests enter their lives. The drama is slated for July 17, 2023, to go on air.

5. LONGING FOR YOU
Na In Woo whom we saw in ‘River Where the Moon Rises’ and ‘Jinxed at First’ is making a comeback with a thriller K-drama ‘Longing For You’. He plays the role of Oh Jin Seong, a detective in a quaint town. One more NU’EST member graces the small screen this month. NU’EST’s Ren stars as Jin Seong’s brother Jin Woo, who is accused of murder. Jin Seong finds the truth about the murder and clears his brother’s name, but Jin Woo is killed shortly after. Jin Seong sets out to uncover the mystery behind Jin Woo’s murder. The drama will premiere on July 26.

6. THE UNCANNY COUNTER – SEASON 2
Before achieving skyrocketing success with A Business Proposal, Kim Se Jeong shone as a demon hunter in the K-drama The Uncanny Counter. The original team returns this season, along with new recruits Yoo In Soo and Jn Sung Kyu. Kang Ki Young, whom we loved in Extraordinary Attorney Woo will appear as an antagonist in this show and so will Kim Hieora, who delivered a stunning performance in The Glory. The drama is slated to arrive on Netflix on July 29, 2023.
