GOT7’s Jinyoung, Kim Sejeong, SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups, and more make donations to support Turkey/Syria earthquake victims

More celebrities made donations to help those affected by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday.

Celebrities from South Korea have banded together to help those who were harmed by the 7.8 earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday. As reported by Korean tabloid Soompi, GOT7’s Jinyoung’s agency BH Entertainment confirmed on February 9, “Park Jinyoung donated 30 million won (over Rs. 19.5 lakhs) on February 8 through the international children’s rights NGO [non-governmental organization] Save the Children.”

Moreover, Kim Sejeong and SEVENTEEN’s S.Coup’s made donations of 40 million won (over Rs. 26 lakhs) and 20 million won (over Rs. 13 lakhs) respectively to the association in support of the purchase of items needed locally, including food, medicine, and winter clothing.

Yoo In Na and Shin Min Ah both donated 30 million won (over Rs. 19.5 lakhs) and 50 million won (over Rs. 32.54 lakhs) respectively to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association to aid the earthquake victims. On February 9, the association revealed that they had received a donation of 30 million won (over Rs. 19.5 lakhs) from Park Bo Young.

NGO Good Neighbors also announced that Kim Go Eun’s donation of 30 million won (over Rs. 19.5 lakhs) will go towards relief goods such as tents and clothing. On February 10, NGO World Vision shared the donation of 50 million won (over Rs. 32.54 lakhs) made by actress Jung Ryeo Won. Additionally, JYP Entertainment also donated 500 million won (over Rs. 3.25 crores) to World Vision.

According to Community Chest of Korea, NCT’s Doyoung donated 100 million won (over Rs. 65 lakhs). Kim Hye Soo and Park Seo Joon each made a donation of 100 million won (over Rs. 65 lakhs)) to the Korean Committee for UNICEF. Chungha also made a donation of 20 million won (over Rs. 13 lakhs) to the Korean Red Cross under her official fan club’s name Byulharang.

Singer MC Mong made a donation of 100 million won (over Rs. 65 lakhs) to Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, which will be used to rebuild medical facilities and treat the injured.
