Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington briefly teases Jon Snow spinoff series in development

Earlier in June, it was announced that a Game of Thrones spin-off series based around Jon Snow is in early development at HBO with Kit Harington attached to reprise his fan-favorite role. While not much was revealed about the Jon Snow spinoff series, Harington has now briefly teased what the potential plot can be for the sequel currently in development. Although Harington did not say much about the development of the show during his panel at the official Game of Thrones Convention Sunday night, he did talk about how the ending of GoT left his character.

“I think if you asked him, he would’ve felt he got off lightly,” Harington said during the panel at the convention Sunday night, according to Entertainment Weekly. “At the end of the show when we find him in that cell, he’s preparing to be beheaded and he wants to be. He’s done. The fact he goes to the Wall is the greatest gift and also the greatest curse.”

Harington continued, “He’s gotta go back up to the place with all this history and live out his life thinking about how he killed Dany, and live out his life thinking about Ygritte dying in his arms, and live out his life thinking about how he hung Olly, and live out his life thinking about all of this trauma, and that, that’s interesting.”

Indirectly teasing the spinoff series, Harrington continued, "So, I think where we leave him at the end of the show, there's always this feeling of like… I think we wanted some kind of little smile that things are okay. He's not okay," he said. It was first confirmed in June that a sequel series to Game of Thrones centered around Harington's Jon Snow was in the early stages of development. As reported by Deadline, earlier this year George R.R. Martin revealed that Harington came up with the idea of continuing Snow’s storyline in a new series.

“Yes, it was Kit Harrington (sic) who brought the idea to us,” Martin wrote in his blog back in June of this year. “I cannot tell you the names of the writers/ showrunners, since that has not been cleared for release yet… but Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they are terrific.”
