Friends star Matthew Perry passes away at 54

Being a part of one of the most popular sitcoms ever, Matthew Perry who continued to gain love and appreciation for his role of Chandler Bing even today, left family, friends, and fans bereaved as he passed away at the age of 54. Matthew was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home in USA on October 28. The case is expected to be currently under investigation and by far, reports state that no foul play has been detected.

Reports have it that Matthew’s mother Suzzane Marie Morrison (nee Langford) and the latter’s husband as well as Canadian broadcaster Keith Morrison arrived at the scene post the incident. According to current reports, on Saturday evening at around 4pm, authorities were called who did not find Perry responsive in the hot tub. A few hours later, several helicopters were expected to have flown in and around Perry’s home, which is located on Bluesail Drive. Sources close to the case have asserted that no drugs or foul play has been detected by far, however, the cause of death is yet to be revealed. Reports also feature some statements from neighbours who have said ‘nice’ things about Perry but have claimed that they are not aware of what transpired in his home.

Many fans have taken to social media to express their grief to post heartfelt notes and condolence messages over the demise of their favourite star. In a statement given by Warner Bros who produced Friends to The Times, they said, “We are devastated by the passing of our dear friend Matthew Perry. Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family. The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones, and all of his devoted fans.” The co-producers NBC too released a statement expressing their grief over his demise.
