Ed Sheeran calls SS Rajamouli's RRR ‘mental’; expresses desire to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan

English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, currently in India for the final leg of his eagerly anticipated +–=÷× Mathematics Tour in Mumbai, has been effusive in his praise for Indian cinema. Sheeran's rendezvous with Bollywood celebrities, including an encounter with Shah Rukh Khan, and his infectious enthusiasm for Indian films, have captured the attention of fans across the nation.

In a candid interview with India Today, Sheeran couldn't contain his admiration for SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, RRR. Describing the film as ‘mental’ and ‘incredible’, Sheeran said, “RRR is mental. It is an incredible film.”

Furthermore, in a recent interview with Zoom, Sheeran expressed his desire to collaborate with none other than the "King of Bollywood" himself, Shah Rukh Khan. The singer recently hung out with SRK at his residence at a small gathering and posted a video of himself reenacting Khan’s signature pose.

Talking about his love for India, he added, “I really feel the ‘love’ here, in India. Sometimes you can play in places and people can be very subdued. Like, even if they are feeling (the vibe) inside them, you can never read how people feel. I have played in certain countries where people have a subdued reaction, but here, in India, it’s a vibrant country. People are so excited! I have the same personality, so I like that.”

Ed Sheeran's Mumbai concert, scheduled for March 16 at the Mahalaxmi Race Course Grounds marks his return to the Indian stage after his last performance in 2017. Ahead of his set, Indian singer Prateek Kuhad is set to serenade the crowd followed by an opening act Calum Scott.
