Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan has joined the growing list of admirers for The Devil Wears Prada 2. The Oscar-winning director revealed that he watched the film during its opening weekend and was impressed by the performances, particularly those of Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.
Speaking on The Late Show, Nolan shared his thoughts while discussing the possibility of collaborating with Hathaway again. When asked if he had seen the much-anticipated sequel, he said, "I watched it last night. It was fabulous, with Emily Blunt as well. It was terrific," prompting a strong reaction from the studio audience.
The sequel marks the return of Hathaway and Blunt as Andy Sachs and Emily Charlton, nearly two decades after the original film became a pop culture staple. They are joined once again by Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, who reprise their roles as Miranda Priestly and Nigel, respectively.
Alongside the returning cast, the film introduces several new faces including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, B. J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet, among others. Actors Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also return, reprising their roles from the original film.
Directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, the film has opened to positive responses from both critics and audiences. It released theatrically on May 1, 2026, and has since recorded a strong opening weekend, with notable traction in international markets including India.
Beyond its box office performance, the film has also benefited from strong word-of-mouth, with viewers appreciating the return of its iconic characters while introducing a fresh narrative arc.
