Actor Blake Lively has addressed the ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni, raising concerns over how the case has been portrayed in the public domain. The dispute, connected to their film It Ends With Us, continues to draw attention amid recent court developments.
In a statement shared on social media, Lively said the situation has been misrepresented as entertainment rather than a serious legal issue. “The last thing I wanted in my life was a lawsuit,” she said, adding that the decision to move forward legally came after “the pervasive retaliation I faced, for asking for a safe working environment.”
The actor criticised the tone of coverage surrounding the case, stating, “Don’t be distracted by the digital soap opera. The constant packaging of this lawsuit as a ‘celebrity drama’ is not only irresponsible, but it is by design.” She indicated that such framing risks shifting focus away from the core concerns of workplace safety and accountability. Lively also acknowledged the challenges of speaking out, noting that legal action comes with personal and professional consequences. “I know it’s a privilege to stand up. I will not waste it,” she said, while expressing gratitude that parts of her case are continuing in court.

The legal dispute dates back to 2024, when Lively filed a complaint alleging misconduct and a hostile work environment during the production of It Ends With Us. Baldoni has denied the allegations, and the matter has since evolved into a broader legal conflict involving countersuits and multiple claims.
