BIGBANG’s Taeyang becomes first Korean male artist to become global ambassador for Givenchy

Taeyang is a dancer, singer, and producer from South Korea. As a member of the South Korean band BIG BANG, he made his debut in 2006. While their debut was not well received, their subsequent albums solidified their success, making them one of the best-selling boy bands worldwide and one of the best-selling digital groups in Asia. Taeyang started a solo career in 2008 and released his debut extended play, HOT, after his group released a number of albums and extended plays. Taeyang's successful songs helped him climb the success ladder. His music has already conquered the globe, but K-pop artists are also dominating the fashion industry as the faces of high-end brands, and we can't get enough of them. In their most recent collaboration, Givenchy has officially announced that Big Bang's Taeyang will now serve as a worldwide ambassador for the French luxury brand, making him the first Korean musician to do so.

Givenchy has established itself as a brand to be reckoned with, from its creation through to its ascension to the top of the fashion business. Givenchy is the quintessential representation of Parisian flair and Haute Couture. The iconic Givenchy muse Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and sports icon LeBron James have all been spotted wearing the French design company, which has been making waves from its modest origins.

Taeyang shared, "I am grateful to be able to start this new chapter of my life with Givenchy. It holds a special meaning to me, as Givenchy is a brand that has inspired me in many ways over the years."

Taeyang’s appointment marks the third major fashion announcement. The move comes as European luxury houses look to tap into the worldwide popularity of K-pop stars, particularly with younger shoppers.

Meanwhile, Taeyang recently released his solo single ‘VIBE’ featuring Jimin of BTS. The song is the first release for the musician post his military release.
