7-Member girl group XG joins McDonald’s for their TV commercial debut

The 7-member hip-hop/R&B-inspired girl group XG has made their first appearance in a McDonald's TV commercial, which airs from February 10.

Alongside the web movie Fandom Feast (McDonald's Live Party) with XG, three new McDonald's TV commercials will roll out sequentially. In the first ad, XG appears in McDonald's GALAXY, a space-themed store created for the campaign. Dressed in alien-inspired outfits, they join ALPHAZ for a #FandomFeast.

Fandom Feast (McDonald's Live Party) is an exciting new concept that lets fans join a real-time McDonald’s party, enjoying the same menu as their favourite artists via live streaming.

On Wednesday, February 19, XG will host FandomFeast: McFries Feast, where they will share McDonald's French Fries with viewers in a live broadcast on McDonald’s official TikTok and YouTube channels.

A special McDonald's GALAXY Exhibition will be held at Hakkakukan, Harajuku, from February 19 to 23 to celebrate the campaign. Fans can see exclusive items, including XG’s outfits from the commercial and behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot.

The TV commercial features XG’s remixed track IN THE RAIN (McDonald's REMIXX), created for the campaign. Originally part of their second mini-album AWE, the song debuted on the Billboard 200 chart. The remix is now available for streaming on TikTok and Instagram from February 10.

After their Nagoya performances on their 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL’, XG will continue their Japan tour in Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Osaka. They will then perform in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne) in February and China (Hangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu) in March, with South America stops planned later this year.

Additionally, in April 2025, XG will become the only Japanese artist to perform at Coachella 2025, one of the largest music festivals in the U.S.
