Bollywood actress Zeenat Aman, celebrated for her timeless beauty and unforgettable performances, recently reminisced about a heartwarming surprise she received during her visit to Oslo in 2016. The enchanting incident unfolded while she was attending a film festival in the picturesque city, where she was honoured for her exceptional contributions to Indian cinema.
In a candid recount of the experience, Aman shared, “In 2016, while attending a film festival in Oslo, I received a wonderful surprise on stage. I was being felicitated for my contribution to Indian cinema, when Norway’s Postal Department issued a special stamp in my honour. I was also presented with a giant replica of it and 60 stamps for my own use.”
She further added, “I was thrilled by this novel gesture of appreciation, but wasn’t sure whether the stamps would actually work. So the very next morning, I bought a ream of postcards, wrote out messages to my friends, slapped a ‘Zeenat Aman’ stamp onto each, crossed my fingers, and dropped the cards into a postbox.
Some weeks later, when I was back in Bombay, I began to receive texts and calls from my friends. All of whom were exclaiming with delight, having received my postcards in the mail!”
“I suppose a limited number of these stamps were released and that they are out of print now. I’ve kept my few remaining sheets carefully though, since I really did feel honoured by this gesture,” Aman concluded.

Zeenat Aman is an Indian actress and a former model. The Evil Within (1970), starring Dev Anand, marked the former beauty queen's acting debut. She has acted in films like Yaadon Ki Baarat, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Qurbani, Dharam Veer, Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Insaaf Ka Tarazu among others. The actress will soon return to the silver screen with Faraz Arif Ansari’s next, Bun Tikki. The film will also feature Shabana Azmi. As per reports, the plan is to take the movie on floors by November of this year in Himachal Pradesh. The director plans to talk about parenting and gender identity throughout the movie. Abhay Deol will play the role of a father in the film.
