Actor-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan recalled his experience of beating cancer, emphasizing on one’s overall well-being. Turning 71, Rakesh’s fitness regime and workout sessions can make even a young person sweat halfway. In 2018, Rakesh was diagnosed with cancer. He recalled that his healthy body helped him a lot in recovery.

The 71-year old filmmaker shares that he got cancer but he managed to pull it out just because of his health and positive attitude. He even shared that after the treatment he was unable to lift a five pound dumbbell adding to it, he said he can now lift 40 kilos, calling it a proof what a motivated mind can do. He was determined to get his fitness game back and thus, he did and all because of his fit body that helped in recovery. Rakesh started to maintain his health and fitness since he was in school.

Recalling his school days from Sainik School, Satara, he said being interested and good in sports made his health and body which it is today as he still works out with the same interest and keenness, which started ever since he was a school kid.

However adding that age has nothing to do with maintaining health, he adds that health is god’s most important and biggest blessing. If one’s mind is determined to look after his health, then nothing can stop as everything is in an individual’s hands. While sharing his daily routine, Rakesh adds that following and sticking to the routine is all it takes. Doing yoga for an hour in the morning including breathing exercises, then walking for an another hour covering 4-5 kilometers, hitting gym with the trainer for an hour then swimming in the evening for 45 minutes is how he keep himself fit.

Mentioning his diet, he adds that he doesn’t do any intermittent fasting or dieting rather have all his meals in controlled portions. He said he advice all his friends to follow the same. Being fit makes you able to do more work, thus throwing away the negative thoughts and making one positive.
