Prime Video released The Wheel of Time Season One recap and Season Two sneak-peek on Saturday. The video was released during the Prime Video Presents The Wheel of Time & The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power panel presentation at New York Comic Con. The panel treated fans to exclusive first looks at Dónal Finn as Mat Cauthon and Ceara Coveney as Elayne Trakand, along with a special welcome video from series star Rosamund Pike.
The sneak peek starts with Mat Cauthon being imprisoned by the Aes Sedai after using Shadar Logoth's ruby-hilted knife. Later, Liandrin Guirale (Kate Fleetwood) arrives at Mat's cell carrying some pastries that he believes she poisoned. However, as she points out, if she had intended for him to die, he would already be dead. Mat promptly resumed trying to dig his way out of his cell once Liandrin left him to eat because, of course, he was actively trying to escape.
In July, it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that the series was picked up for a third season, following the wrap of production on Season Two earlier this year. The first season of The Wheel of Time is exclusively available on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The series is a co-production with Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television.
Season 2 will see the return of the original cast, including those at the panel today, alongside Josha Stradowski and Zoë Robins, with Dónal Finn taking over as Mat Cauthon as his journey grows darker. Meanwhile, Ayoola Smart, Ceara Coveney, Natasha O'Keeffe, Gregg Chillingirian, and Meera Syal will be joining the second season.
