Several celebrities from Hollywood are now frequently under pressure to appear beautiful, even at airports, due to the advent of paparazzi culture and the constant criticism on social media.
But Wamiqa Gabbi, the actress, redefines the idea in her own unique way, unconcerned with such a culture.
Wamiqa told ANI, “I don't take airport-look pressure. I dress up for myself. Earlier, I used to feel that good clothes are meant for good days only but life is too short. I dress up for myself. I will dress up every day if I want to. There's no pressure as such, nobody should take the pressure. It's nonsense.”
Wamiqa walked as a showstopper for acclaimed designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla on the first day of India Couture Week 2024 at the Taj Palace in Delhi on Wednesday.
Wamiqa opened the show in an ivory trail lehenga from the 'Botanical Bloom' collection, which featured Resham embroidery on ivory silk threads embellished with pearls and crystals. She finished the show as a regal bride wearing a crimson lehenga from the 'Bridal Gota' collection, which was created with Gota, Zardozi, and crystals.
Interestingly, with this show, Wamiqa made her runway debut.
Wamiqa stated during her first ramp walk, "I never imagined that my first ramp walk would be for Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. It was like a dream. I was scared before hitting the ramp but once I entered the stage everything went well."
On the work front, Wamiqa will appear alongside Varun Dhawan in Baby John. The film is set for release in December 2024.
