We earlier told you that Shahid Kapoor has dived deep into the preparations of his fresh project, a Hindi remake of the Telugu flick Jersey. Months after Ranveer Singh extensively trained in cricket for ’83, Shahid steps into similar shoes, and has begun learning the nitty-gritty of the game. A photo of him net-practicing surfaced on the internet, a couple of days back.
The actor recently left a remark on cricketer Virat Kohli’s tweet, and it makes us believe that he is enjoying his preps already! Virat, sharing a photo of himself striking a swift cover drive, wrote, ‘A good cover drive is therapeutic’. Shahid was quick to retweet it, and wrote, ‘Am Feeling it’…!
Am feeling it. ???? https://t.co/IJGcnbU5uL

The original film, starring south actor Nani in the lead role, revolved around a failed cricketer who makes a stunning comeback at the age of 36. “Shahid plays a cricketer in Jersey and the perfectionist that he is, he has already started learning the ropes of playing a cricketer on-screen by regularly going for the cricketing lessons. The film’s shoot starts in Chandigarh by November end,” a source earlier told Bollywood Hungama.
Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the Telugu version, the film is scheduled to release on August 28, 2020.
