Following a 70-run win over New Zealand in the semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup, India entered the Cricket World Cup finals on November 15, 2023. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian Cricket Team made several records on Wednesday evening with Virat Kohli scoring his 50th ODI century, breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record and Mohammed Shami's seven-wicket haul changing the course of the game. While Anushka Sharma was in the stands cheering for her husband on this historic occasion, Kohli was in tremendous form as he scored his 50th ODI century in 106 balls. Following this, he removed his gloves and helmet as he bowed to Sachin Tendulkar who was present at the Wankhede Stadium, thanked god and sent flying kisses to Anushka who was cheering for him.

Following the innings, Virat said, “It’s the stuff of dreams. Sachin paaji is there, and Anushka was sitting there. It’s very difficult for me to explain this but if I paint a perfect picture I would want this to be the picture. My life partner, the person I love the most is sitting there, my hero is there (Sachin) and all the fans at Wankhede, such a historic venue so it was amazing.”

As they exchanged multiple flying kisses and the videos went viral on social media, Anushka took to Instagram stories to pen a loving note for Kohli which read, "God is the best script writer! Utterly grateful to him for blessing me with your love, and to watch you grow from strength to strength and achieve all that you have and will, being honest to yourself and to the sport always. You are truly god's child."

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli tied the knot in 2017 in Italy. The couple welcomed their first child, their daughter Vamika in 2021.

On the work front, Anushka Sharma will next be seen in the film Chakda Xpress. She will essay the role of former woman cricketer of India Jhulan Goswami and the project will be streaming on Netflix.
