Vipul Amrutlal Shah has revolutionized the action genre with the Commando franchise and is now venturing into the OTT space with the highly ambitious Commando series. The casting for the series was jointly handled by Sunshine Pictures, led by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, and renowned casting director Mukesh Chhabra. They received a whopping 11,000 applicants vying to be the face of the series, but the makers meticulously tested the potential of the talents. Among the multitude of contenders, they identified a young and promising talent named Prem, who perfectly fit the bill for the show's grand scale and demanding content.
The Commando series, with its spectacular visuals and compelling storyline, required a talent who could do justice to the project's template. After careful consideration, Prem emerged as the ideal choice to meet the character's requirements and match the show's magnitude.
Sunshine Pictures and Mukesh Chhabra recognized the true potential of Prem, ultimately selecting him as the face of the highly anticipated show. With his selection, the series is set to showcase not only the brilliance of Vipul Amrutlal Shah as a filmmaker but also the fresh and promising talent of Prem, adding to the excitement surrounding the project's release.
Talking about the casting of Prem, the director and producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah said, "Content has been the priority for me always, and then I search for a face to showcase it the way we have planned the project. Since we began planning the show, I have been certain that we will provide a stage for emerging and fresh talent to demonstrate their abilities. We chose Prem to be the show's face. Prem is a young actor with impressive acting abilities and exceptional martial arts and action talents. I was confident that by making Prem the show's face, I was giving the genre and the show its due respect."
Produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah's Sunshine Pictures, directed and created by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, and co-produced by Aashin A Shah, The series is set to release on August 11, 2023, on Disney+ Hotstar. Starring Prem in and as Commando, the action-thriller will also see Adah Sharma, and Vaibhav Tatwawadi in pivotal roles, alongside Shreya Singh Chaudhry, Amit Sial and Ishteyak Khan.
