The trailer of the 90s comic caper Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video was launched at a multiplex in Mumbai and was attended by actors Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, Archana Puran Singh, Archana Patel, Rakesh Bedi, Mukesh Tiwari, Tiku Talsania, Mubeen Saudagar and others. Bhushan Kumar was joined by fellow producers Shiv Chanana, Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl and Vimal Lahoti, director Raaj Shaandliyaa and music composer duo Sachin Jigar. Hungama Digital Media's CEO Neeraj Roy also graced this memorable event.

Rajkummar Rao grabbed headlines at the trailer launch when he was asked whether he was competing with Akshay Kumar, Rajkummar explained why that’s not possible saying, “Akshay sir jo hai, unse bahut seekha hai maine. Sometime back, I mentioned that I grew up watching some stars. Akshay Kumar is one of them. Woh hamare superstar hai. Aur apne superstar se aap competition nahin karte. Unko pyaar dete hai. I am his fan.”

As the audience applauded his statement, Rajkummar Rao further said, “All these people – Aamir Khan sir, Shah Rukh Khan sir, Salman Khan sir, Hrithik Roshan sir, Akshay sir – I have learned by watching them act. They’ll always be my superstars. I’ll always look up to them.”

He then raised laughs as he stated, “I am so middle class that even today if my phone rings and I see that Akshay Kumar is calling me, toh main khada ho jaata hoon. I tell everyone around excitedly, ‘Dekho, Akshay sir ka call aa raha hai’ (smiles)! I still can’t believe that I am in the same industry working with these people, who I have adored all my life. Hence, I can’t imagine in my wildest dreams to compete with him.”

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video releases in cinemas on October 11. It marks Rajkummar Rao’s immediate release after the monstrous blockbuster Stree 2. Incidentally, the horror comedy starred Akshay Kumar in a cameo.
