Varun Dhawan is basking in the joy of fatherhood as he recently welcomed a baby girl with his wife Natasha. Amidst the flood of celebratory wishes from fans, the industry, and well-wishers, it's interesting to note that Varun had himself expressed his desire to have baby girl someday. This makes the arrival of his baby girl even more special, as it fulfills a heartfelt wish that he had openly shared.

Varun, who shared the couch with Alia Bhatt, revealed on Karan Johar's Koffee With Karan 5 that he hopes to have a daughter someday. During a rapid-fire round, while listing a few actors, Karan asked Varun, “What do the following have that you don’t?” When the filmmaker mentioned Shahid Kapoor’s name, he shared, He has a baby girl. I don’t want his baby girl. I want my own.” He added, “Shahid, your child is yours. I don’t want your child,” he added.

He went on to say that he wants to marry and have his own child eventually and added, “I do wanna get married. I wanna have babies, actually. I want to have a child. I love children, and I wanna have my own little one.”

Varun and Natasha are childhood sweethearts who dated for many years before marrying on January 24, 2021, in front of their families and closest friends.

Varun's struggle to win Natasha's heart was not easy. Varun revealed during a candid conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan on her radio show that Natasha had refused his proposal multiple times.

The actor, famed for his performances in Bollywood movies, spoke of their long-standing relationship, which eventually turned into love. “The first time I met Natasha was in the sixth standard. We were friends till the eleventh or twelfth grade. We were very close friends, Varun revealed during the interview. Recalling their early school days, he mentioned a memorable encounter on the basketball court, saying, I remember seeing her, and, when I saw her that day, I felt like I fell in love with her,” he said.
