Thor: Love And Thunder star Christian Bale is ready to play Batman again if Christopher Nolan directs : Bollywood News

Filmmaker Christopher Nolan recently revealed that he is ready to return as Bruce Wayne/Batman a decade after 2012's The Dark Knight Rises finished out the trilogy. The Oscar-winning actor said that he’s open to reprise the role if Christopher Nolan is on board to direct.

In a recent interview with ScreenRant, the actor, who is set to make his MCU debut as villain in Thor: Love and Thunder starring as Gorr the God Butcher, revealed that he would only return to Batman if Christopher Nolan asked. Nolan directed Bale in three critically acclaimed series of Batman films, with Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises.

“No. No one’s ever mentioned it to me. No one’s brought it up,” Bale said when asked about reprising Batman. “Occasionally people say to me, ‘Oh, I hear you were approached and offered all this.” And I’m like, ‘That’s news to me. No one’s ever said that.' I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, ‘Hey, look. Let’s make three films, if we’re lucky enough to get to do that.”

“And then let’s walk away,"Bale added. “Let’s not linger too long.’ In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.’ And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.”

Since wrapping up his run as the Caped Crusader, Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson have played the role on the big screen with the latter earning acclaim earlier this year for The Batman.

“I still haven’t seen it. I will see it,” Bale recently told Variety about The Batman. “Listen, mate, it’s amazing how few films I see. Every director I work with, I’ve seen a couple of their films and they’re always looking at me going, ‘Are you kidding?’ I like to really savor films and I don’t watch too many. But I will, I certainly will. Robert is an absolutely wonderful actor. We bumped into each other, talked a little bit about it ahead of time, and I heard wonderful things.”

Christian Bale is currently set to play Gorr the God Butcher next in Thor: Love And Thunder, the fourth installment of the Thor franchise that is being directed by Taika Waititi. The film is scheduled to open in theaters July 8, 2022.
