Tara Vs Bilal trailer preview: John Abraham refuses to comment on boycott trend; says “I won’t comment on anything that becomes a hashtag for no reason”

This Diwali will not just see the release of Akshay Kumar-starrer Ram Setu and Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra-starrer Thank God but also John Abraham's production, Tara Vs Bilal. However, there won't be a clash. While Ram Setu and Thank God will release on October 25, the Harshvardhan Rane and Sonia Rathee starrer will arrive in cinemas on October 28.

At a recent media interaction, John Abraham was asked why Tara Vs Bilal is not releasing on October 25 and thereby take advantage of the post Diwali holiday. To which, John said, "We all need to release at some point of time. Whether its a right decision or not, I don't think I am an expert to comment on that. We are not experts in choosing particular dates. It's very difficult for us. I leave that larger decision to T-Series. (Co-producer) Shiv Chanana is very good in figuring out what's an opportune date. The attempt is that the audience comes and watches our film and that we get a good window."

When he was asked to comment on the boycott trend, he refused to give a reaction and instead stated, "I won't comment on anything that becomes a hashtag for no reason. I only want to talk about Tara Vs Bilal."

John Abraham also revealed why he agreed to back Tara Vs Bilal, "We haven't seen a romantic film since a long time. When Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh narrated the film, mujhe bahut acchi lagi. If I was younger, I would have probably done it! However, we have a very handsome hero (pats Harshvardhan Rane's back). He's perfectly cast for it. And Sonia Rathee ne bahut achha kaam kiya hai."

Sanyuktha revealed that it's not easy to convince John Abraham to come on board. On this, John said, "I had faith in Sanyuktha as a writer. At times, people are not making films. They are making proposals. You forget the writing. So, I think the writing is very important. The way she has written it, its nice and breezy. You'll come out of the theatre and say, 'I had a nice time'. That's what I was convinced about. As an audience, you also want to see fresh faces, that come with zero baggage. And they are such wonderful actors."

John Abraham continued, "Aisa nahi hai ki talent film families mein hi hai. You get a lot of talent outside and these are two fantastic examples of that. I hope they keep on going higher and higher so that it becomes difficult for someone like me as well to get their dates!"

He also spoke highly of director Samar Iqbal, "I hope my director becomes very successful and gives me serious attitude!"
