With his upcoming release Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, Ajay Devgn is set to complete 100 films in Bollywood. It’s not just the fans who are rejoicing, but Ajay’s contemporary actors are also conveying their wishes. Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar took to Twitter to cheer as their friend is about to touch the milestone. At the trailer launch event of the film, Ajay himself also opened up on his 100th film.
“I never thought that I would reach 100 films. But the hard work that I put in my 99th film, I put the same in my 100th, and I will do the same in 101st,” he said.
The actor also said that he took special care in maintaining the story’s factual aspects. “You have to be very careful and honest to the history so that if tomorrow someone questions us, we can say that we did follow history,” he said, adding that he was “very happy about this film and the way it has been mounted”.
“I researched a lot. I bought Amar Chitrakatha to research about the character. Udaybhan has a very lovely role and an important part. If you have to mention Tanhaji’s story, you have to mention Udaybhan,” added Ajay’s co-star Saif Ali Khan who plays Udaybhan Rathod, the fort keeper of Mughal Army Chief Jai Singh I.
The film will also star Kajol as Tanhaji’s wife Savitribai Malusare. Directed by Om Raut, the film releases on January 10, 2020.
