Tahira Kashyap on Ayushmann Khurrana’s support in making Sharmajee Ki Beti, “That’s his job” : Bollywood News

Tahira Kashyap Khurrana’s feature film debut Sharmajee Ki Beti was premiered last evening at the ongoing MAMI Mumbai Film Festival to a positive response. The film tells the story of a group of women from different walks of lives and the issues they encounter, played by Divya Dutta, Saiyami Kher, Sakshi Tanwar, Vanshika Taparia, Arista Mehta, among others.

After the screening, Tahira was asked how much her husband and star actor Ayushmann Khurrana supported her in making the film. She said, “I am just so fortunate to have a creative powerhouse at home. So, he being a part of my journey all throughout… I don’t even know if I should thank him because that’s his job (laughs). He has been there for me as I have been there for him. And the companionship continues. I think we inspire each other. We jam a lot on creative things. And that has really inspired me.”

Expectedly, Tahira was also asked how she thought about the story of Sharmajee Ki Beti. “I don’t even know if I have thought of this story; I have lived this story,” she said. “So, if you ask when did I start writing, I have been observing, seeing, experiencing. I think that’s what helped me in my storytelling. I don’t think any of the women (in the film) had a particularly large problem. The only problem was that they just happened to be women and things were just around them. And I wanted to celebrate that. I also wanted to have a quirky and little bit of sense of humour.”

Sharmajee Ki Beti also stars Sharib Hashmi and Parvin Dabas and it’s produced by Applause Entertainment.
