Tahira Kashyap Khurrana, who has always advocated for girls and women's stories, has seen her journey unfold in a way that it has got her in a full circle. Her first short film Toffee premiered at the prestigious MAMI film festival in 2017. Now, in 2023, her debut feature film, Sharmajee Ki Beti, is set to have its world premiere at the Mumbai Film Festival.

What makes this journey even more surreal is that both films were announced on the same day, just six years apart. Well that seems to be a unique connection! As for Sharmajee K Beti is expected to be another humane story, woven with the themes of humor, vividness, and uniqueness. In her recent Instagram post, Tahira also shared a heartfelt note by her daughter, and how it shall always be a source of inspiration from a fiery, independent young girl. In her post she wrote, “My love for the girl child and women had led my first short film, TOFFEE, being premiered at the prestigious MAMI film festival in 2017 to now by debut feature film, SHARMAJEE KI BETI having its World premiere in 2023 with @mumbaifilmfestival The surreal part is that both the films were announced on the same day just 6 years apart ?? I will continue telling stories about girls and women in the most vivid, unique, engaging and humorous ( that’s just my tone) way because there are that many and more stories to tell.
