Sunny Leone, who initially gained fame as an adult film star, successfully transitioned into mainstream Bollywood cinema with her debut film Jism 2 in 2012. Since then, she has become a prominent figure in the Indian film industry, captivating audiences with her talent, charisma, and versatile performances. In the past few days, the actress has been making headlines as she made her Cannes red carpet debut today. For the unversed, she is there with director Anurag Kashyap and actor Rahul Bhat for the premiere of their film Kennedy.

However, the Kennedy star confessed that she was all ‘anxious’ about her debut on the red carpet of the prestigious event while stating that she knows she has ‘earned’ her place at the prestigious film festival. It all happened before her debut during a chat with film journalist Anupama Chopra. Reflecting on her journey, Leone asserted, “It’s beyond my wildest dreams; coming to India, being a part of Bigg Boss, being part of films, people saying so many awful, horrible things… trying to push past those things, look at the positive, trying to break barriers and break people’s stereotypes they have of me or what I’ll be like or who I am, I have earned to be in this film. I auditioned for this. Someone said, ‘Yes, you are good enough to be in this.”

The Ek Paheli Leela actress further added that her journey has ‘definitely’ not been easy. Speaking of Kennedy, Sunny stated that in the movie, she has finally got to act and do things she wanted to do with her character, an opportunity she was never given before. “The difficult part was I wanted to, in my mind, meet up the mark of some of the people he (Kashyap) has worked with, the actors he has worked with,” she shared.

The One Night Stand actress recalled, “He told me the mannerisms he wants from the character and that is something a director has never asked me to do. Either I had to come up with them or ask them…so many different things I wanted to do in different films but they didn’t come true because of the ‘different’ requirements of the people I worked with.”
