This has been definitely a year where Indian cinema lost many of the iconic actors like Om Puri, Vinod Khanna and Shashi Kapoor. Vinod Khanna, one of the finest stars Hindi cinema had witnessed, passed away on April 27 earlier this year. The late actor was suffering from bladder cancer and had shed a lot of weight in the past two years.

The sudden passing away of Vinod Khanna had definitely sent shockwaves through the industry. Amitabh Bachchan, who was close to the veteran actor, was left in shock after his sudden demise. He had even paid tribute to him via his blog reminiscing about the times he spent with Vinod Khanna, right from his struggling days to the current days before his health started deteriorating.

Last weekend, Amitabh Bachchan attended the Star Screen Awards 2017 where he paid an emotional tribute to his friend, co-star, and colleague Vinod Khanna. “Remembering a friend that has left us before time is painful and most sad... Our condolences and prayers for his soul...” wrote Amitabh Bachchan, on his blog with Vinod Khanna's picture from the younger days. It seemed like Mr. Bachchan was left in tears while talking about his late friend.

Vinod Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan had worked in several films together including Amar Akbar Anthony, Hera Pheri, Parvarish, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, Reshma Aur Shera, Guddi, Insaaf among others.

In the year 1999, Vinod Khanna was awarded the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. Although Vinod Khanna was busy with political career, he did not opt out of movies. He was seen in Salman Khan starrer Dabangg and Dabangg 2 and Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dilwale.
