After having made many of realistic films like Fashion, Jail, Traffic Signal, Page 3 and the more recent Calendar Girls, Madhur Bhandarkar announced his next film titled Indu Sarkar, which is based on the infamous 1975 Emergency. Reports have it that the film will span a 21-month long period from 1975 to 1977, when Prime Minister (late) Indira Gandhi declared emergency across the nation.
Spotted: Madhur Bhandarkar in Mumbai’s Chor BazaarRecently, as a part of the film’s preparations, Madhur Bhandarkar went on ‘props- hunting’ in order to add to the authenticity of the film, something that he is best known for. He happened to meet the elderly gentleman named Anwarbhai in the famous lanes of Chor Bazaar in Mumbai, who helped him procure the olden days’ LP records. Madhur Bhandarkar posted this rather cute photograph of himself with Anwarbhai with the apt caption that stated “After Delhi & Kolkata, shopping at #Chor Bazaar,#Mumbai. Anwarbhai provided us superhit LP's and genuine accessories from 70's. #InduSarkar”.
