Sooraj Pancholi reacts on Instagram following acquittal in Jiah Khan Suicide Case; says, “The Truth always wins!” : Bollywood News

Actor Sooraj Pancholi, who was Jiah Khan's boyfriend and accused of abetting her commit suicide, responded on Instagram shortly after receiving significant legal relief in the case. Sooraj took to his Instagram Stories and wrote, “The TRUTH always wins!” He also added folded hands and red heart emojis with the hashtag “God is Great.” Judge AS Sayyed of the special CBI court in Mumbai stated on Friday there wasn't much evidence to hold Sooraj in the case and acquitted the actor. He stated, “Due to paucity of evidence, this court can't hold you (Sooraj Pancholi) guilty, hence acquitted.”

Sooraj Pancholi, who was in a relationship with Jiah Khan when she died, was accused of abetting her commit suicide by Jiah's mother Rabi Khan after a big argument between the two. However, on April 28th, the court acquitted the Sooraj of all charges, stating that there was insufficient evidence linking him to the abetment. Sooraj, the son of Zarina and Bollywood actor Aditya Pancholi, made his Bollywood debut in 2015 with the movie Hero, alongside Athiya Shetty. He appeared in court on the same day, accompanied by his mother and actress Zarina Wahab.

Rabia Khan, who played a crucial role as a prosecution witness in the case, had previously expressed her belief to the court that her daughter's death was a murder and not a suicide. In response to the verdict, she repeated her claim that her daughter was killed and stated that she intends to appeal to the high court. She said, “The verdict is on alleged suicide, but I have always maintained that Jiah was murdered. This, in fact, strengthens my case.”

Almost ten years before, on June 3, 2013, Jiah's mother Rabia Khan discovered her daughter hanging from the ceiling of her home in Mumbai's Juhu neighbourhood. The Juhu Police detained actor Suraj Pancholi, Jiah Khan's then-boyfriend, for aiding suicide after a 6-page letter allegedly written by Jiah was discovered at her home. It was asserted that the suicide letter was evidence against Suraj and that it represented their turbulent relationship.
