Bollywood's 'Miss Fashionista' Sonam Kapoor has now been roped in as the goodwill ambassador of a Mumbai-based NGO named 'Fight Hunger Foundation', with an objective to create awareness about malnutrition in India.
Sonam Kapoor becomes goodwill ambassador of eradicating malnutrition in IndiaSpeaking about the cause, Sonam Kapoor said that, every year, over one million children died of malnutrition-related issues in the country and that it was inconceivable for her that there were children who did not have access to proper nutrition and clean water. She added that it was impossible to build a productive and peaceful world on empty stomachs. As a step in that direction, Sonam Kapoor even visited one of 'Fight Hunger Foundation's project sites at Chota Sion Hospital in Mumbai with an objective of gaining a deeper understanding of the issue.
When she visited the hospital, Sonam Kapoor, besides meeting numerous mothers and the malnourished children, she also spoke to the hospital staff to learn more. Recalling her experience, Sonam Kapoor said that it was really very devastating for her to see the children suffer from malnutrition, which, she felt was an easily preventable condition. With a hope to build a hunger-free India, she urged everyone to come forward and support in the fight against malnutrition.
