Tumbbad 2 is reportedly adding international names to its technical team as work continues on the much-anticipated sequel. As per a source close to the project, Los Angeles-based concept artist and creature designer Simon Lee (also known as Spiderzero) and prosthetic designer Shaune Harrison have joined the film.

Simon Lee is known for his work as a concept artist and creature designer on several international projects, including films like Pacific Rim and the Godzilla vs. Kong franchise. The source claims he has been brought on board to contribute to the sequel’s creature design and overall visual development, which is expected to play an important role in the film’s world-building. Shaune Harrison, who has worked as a prosthetic designer on multiple big international productions including the Harry Potter films, is also said to be part of the project. His involvement is expected to strengthen the detailing of prosthetics and character-related make-up work required for the film.

The sequel is being produced by actor-producer Sohum Shah under Sohum Shah Films and is presented by Pen Studios, headed by Dr. Jayantilal Gada. The association with Pen Studios suggests that the makers are aiming to expand the scale of the sequel.

A source shared that the team is looking to enhance the visual aspects of the Tumbbad universe, keeping in mind the mythology-driven tone of the original film. The first Tumbbad earned appreciation for its atmosphere and production design and has built a strong following over the years. While the makers have not yet officially confirmed these new additions, industry buzz suggests that Tumbbad 2 is currently in active development and moving ahead with its next phase of planning.
