Kunal Kemmu, Neha Dhupia, Prajakta Koli, Suhail Nayyar, Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza, Tanya Bami of Netflix, creator and co-producer Ishita Moitra, producer Samar Khan and directors Shashank Khaitan, Neeraj Udhwani and Hitesh Kewalya attended the trailer launch of their series Single Papa at a five-star hotel in Mumbai.

The event began on an entertaining note as a competition took place on stage between the actors of the film and the mediapersons. Both sides were given the doll of a baby and were told to put the baby to bed with a diaper, clothes and a swaddle. The media’s side did it fastest and won the round. Then, the trailer was unveiled after which the team of the show spoke about the script, experience and a lot more.
During the Q-and-A session with the media, Kunal Kemmu was asked about the advantages of being a single papa. He quipped, “You get a hefty cheque from Netflix! Otherwise, I wouldn’t know as I am not a single papa. Meri partnership chal rahi hai. Wahaan sunna padta hai. But as a single father, you can make your own decisions. From the show, I have learned that it might seem easy and also seem hilarious but living as a single father is quite challenging.”
Kunal Kemmu is married to actress Soha Ali Khan and they have a eight-year-old daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu.
Kunal continued, “Nevertheless, this show raises the issue that baap ko kam credit milta hai. They also do a lot. And I am not just talking about my character. Manoj ji’s character is also well etched out. One of my favourite scenes in the show is the scene between Manoj ji and me where he talks about the importance a fatherhood.”
Neeraj Udhwani remarked, “A woman develops that maternal instinct as soon as she gets pregnant. But a man becomes a father in an instant, the moment he holds his child for the first time. That’s when a switch goes on in him suddenly. Prior to that, every man is a man-child. Theoretically, he knows what it means to be a father, but becoming a father comes only with experience. We felt that it would be an experience to witness that journey on screen.”
Kunal Kemmu joked, “I am still a man-child. I have just been modified!”
However, on a serious note, he remarked, “I think it’s the quickest that you commit to a relationship. It doesn’t take time at all. The moment you hold a child for the first time, it's that relationship where you know that I’ll jump in front of a bus for this one, even though I have just met this person. I don’t know how else to explain that feeling. As Neeraj said, you instantly become a father.”
Single Papa releases on Netflix on December 12.
