Sidhant Gupta recently reflected on his connection to his hometown Jammu, describing it as a constant source of grounding and inspiration amid the demands of his career.
Speaking about how his perspective has evolved over time, the actor said, “I have my own understanding of the world now. And the point of view shifts with each character that I take up and eventually broadens as I find my way back to myself. I try to visit my folks back in Jammu twice a year especially during Diwali.”
Gupta, who has often spoken about his roots, highlighted how returning home offers him a sense of continuity despite the changes in his professional life. He recalled the simplicity of his upbringing, noting how everyday experiences from his childhood continue to shape his outlook.
Emphasising the emotional value of these visits, he added, “The big laughs, the catching up on lost time, differences in opinions, views, little madness, even the irrelevant conversations and when there's nothing left to say. There's a sense of belonging here and even the silence is comforting.”
For Gupta, the connection to Jammu goes beyond nostalgia, serving as a way to recalibrate amid a fast-paced industry. He acknowledged the challenges that come with being away from home, particularly in a profession that demands constant movement and engagement.
“You realise how years fly by just because you live the hell out of that day! And so, visiting my homeland, my folks is fuel for me as the hustle is lonely. We're all emotional beings at the very core and that longing must be fed. And that is a universal language. Rest assured, cinema is forever,” he said.
