With Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt reuniting for this romantic drama after Gully Boy in 2019, the film has been receiving a lot of love from the industry insiders. After Abhishek Bachchan showered praises for the film, his sister Shweta Bachchan even went on to give a special gift to the leading man Ranveer Singh.

For the unversed, Shweta’s mother Jaya Bachchan essays a pivotal role in this romantic drama, wherein she is seen as the grandmother of Ranveer Singh along with legendary actor Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi playing integral roles. Joining her family, Shweta attended the starry premiere of the film and couldn’t stop appreciating the acting chops of Singh, so much so, that she ended up gifting a special necklace for his performance in the movie. A video of the same is being shared by netizens on social media. On the other hand, her brother Abhishek Bachchan had penned a heartfelt note, appreciating the work of KJO as well as the entire cast of the film.

Talking about Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, audiences will see Karan Johar return as a director of a film after seven years. Known for his love stories and family dramas, this commercial entertainer is expected to feature the perfect blend of both worlds. While Ranveer Singh essays the role of Rocky Randhawa, Alia Bhatt plays Rani Chatterjee. It also stars Shabana Azmi as the grandmother of Bhatt along with Jaya and Dharmendra. Besides them, Churni Ganguly, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Anjali Anand, Namit Das, among others. The film is slated for release on July 28.
