The Awaarapan duo of Shriya Saran and Emraan Hashmi are all set to reunite for a web-series that explores the world of glamour, and the role nepotism plays in this entertainment industry. Interestingly, produced by Karan Johar, who has been accused of the same in the past, the show features an ensemble cast with Emraan playing a superstar actor-producer whereas Shriya Saran is expected to essay the character of Mandira.

Speaking of how her role as Mandira stands out, Shriya Saran revealed that viewers get to a complex narrative of watch her character which mirrors the intricacies of real-life celebs navigating through their own battles. Talking about the same, Shriya said, “Mandira as a character is very layered. What you see in the beginning keeps changing and keeps evolving through the show. Sometimes you feel like, oh, this can't be her but then when you look inside yourself, you feel like you are also one of those, right? We all have so many layers within us as humans. We reflect on everything that's happened to us and what's happening to us right now. And so that's what Mandira exactly is.”

Coming to Showtime, the show promises to be a journey that takes you through the business and money, the relationships, the lifestyle, and all the inside scoop on Bollywood's best-kept secrets. Showtime features a massive showdown between actor-producer Raghu Khanna played Emraan Hashmi and entertainment journalist Mihika Nandy aka Mahima Makwana as actors like Mouni Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, Vishal Vashishtha, Neeraj Madhav, Vijay Raaz and Naseeruddin Shah essay pivotal roles.

Created by Sumit Roy, directed by showrunner Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar with the screenplay written by Sumit Roy, Mithun Gangopadhyay and Lara Chandni and dialogues penned by Jehan Handa and Karan Shrikant Sharma, it is releasing exclusively on March 8 on Disney+ Hotstar.
