Leaving many surprised, the Dharmatic universe of Karan Johar presented audiences with a show on nepotism called Showtime that explores the money, the business, the glamour, the relationships, the lifestyle, the inside scoop on all of Bollywood's best-kept secrets. With audiences waiting to catch a glimpse of this massive showdown between a B-town tycoon and an entertainment journalist, Mahima Makwana, who plays the latter, opened up about the challenges she faced while shooting for this much anticipated web-series.

In a recent interaction, Mahima Makwana explained about how actors make the characters and their acting look effortless on screen but added that there are always some scenes which are challenging and make the whole process slightly tough for them. Explaining further, Mahima shared, “Honestly, every day was a challenge, we didn't really go linear with the approach. When it came to the shooting process, we shot snippets from different episodes on day 1. I was pushed into the corner just like Mahika was and I assumed that probably we will have a slow-paced start, but that never really happened. I was continuously on my toes and with a new series and the OTT setup. Being the protagonist of the show you really have the responsibility on your shoulder, so every day was a challenge, we would shoot 7 scenes a day and as I am there in all the scenes, I didn't really get the time to prepare for the role.”

Disney+ Hotstar and Dharmatic Entertainment will be presenting Showtime which is slated to premiere exclusively on March 8 on Disney+ Hotstar. Created by Sumit Roy, and directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar, the screenplay is written by Sumit Roy, Mithun Gangopadhyay and Lara Chandni whereas the dialogues are penned by Jehan Handa and Karan Shrikant Sharma. As for the web series, Showtime features Emraan Hashmi and Mahima Makwana in the lead with Mouni Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, Vishal Vashishtha, Neeraj Madhav, Vijay Raaz and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles.
