Actor Shanaya Kapoor recently spoke about a difficult personal experience from her past, revealing that an ex-boyfriend had allegedly been messaging multiple women while they were on an overseas vacation together.
The actor opened up about the incident during her appearance on the podcast Relationshit Advice, where she discussed emotional boundaries and trust in relationships. Kapoor said the truth came out unexpectedly when she asked to book a cab from her boyfriend’s phone as her own battery had died. According to Shanaya, she noticed messages from his former girlfriend on the screen. As she checked further, she found similar conversations with four other women as well. “The second girl popped up, the third, the fourth, the fifth… there were five girls he was messaging,” she recalled.
Kapoor said she took screenshots of the chats and immediately reached out to her close friends for advice. She also mentioned that actor Ananya Panday was among the people she contacted, who urged her to walk away from the relationship. However, being in a foreign country made it difficult for her to leave instantly. Shanaya added that when she confronted her boyfriend later, he reportedly dismissed the chats as casual and claimed nothing physical had happened. Kapoor described the incident as “emotional cheating,” saying it left her deeply hurt. She further shared that her then-partner tried to make up for it by gifting her an expensive pair of earrings, which she jokingly referred to as “guilty earrings.”
On the professional front, Shanaya is currently in the spotlight for her film Tu Yaa Main, which releases on February 13. While the actor continues to focus on her career and upcoming projects, her candid remarks about relationships and emotional betrayal have also sparked conversation online, with many fans praising her honesty and calling her experience relatable.
