Actor Shanaya Kapoor recently spoke about the advantages of growing up with well-known parents in the film industry. The young actor, who is steadily carving her space in Bollywood, opened up about how her parents, Maheep Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, have played a supportive role in her journey.
Shanaya made these remarks during filmmaker Farah Khan’s vlog visit to her house, where she was seen alongside her Tu Yaa Main co-star Adarsh Gourav. During the interaction, Farah asked Shanaya what it is like to have star parents. Responding to the question, Shanaya said, “It’s good to have a star mother and father because they help me promote the film.”
She also shared a fun incident that highlighted how popular her mother Maheep is among fans. Shanaya recalled visiting a theatre with Maheep to watch a film, where she assumed people were approaching her for photos after her trailer release. However, she soon realised that the crowd was actually excited to meet her mother instead. According to Shanaya, she was momentarily surprised but also amused by the attention Maheep received.
The conversation comes at a time when Shanaya is gearing up for her upcoming release Tu Yaa Main. Directed by Bejoy Nambiar and backed by Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow, the film also stars Adarsh Gourav and is slated to hit theatres on February 13, 2026.
