Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan had Hindu, Muslim weddings and registered marriage in one way, reveals Viveck Vaswani: “All three weddings happened in one day”

Shah Rukh Khan and producer Viveck Vaswani share a long-term friendship. The producer was one of the guests when SRK got married to Gauri Khan in 1991. In a recent interview, Vivek recalled how the actor got married three times on the same day following three customs.

Talking to Siddharth Kannan, Viveck Vaswani gifted Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan a five-day stay at a hotel in Mumbai. “After the wedding, we took Gauri to Darjeeling because we had to shoot the title song of Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. When they returned to Bombay, of course, they couldn’t stay at my house so as a gift, I gave them five days at Sun n Sand, then they moved to Aziz’s (Aziz Mirza) house,” he said. He also said that Aziz Mirza was also present at the wedding.

“It was a fabulous wedding, everything was very nice. It was so much fun,” he added. They got married as per Hindu and Muslim traditions and also registered their wedding that day. “All three weddings happened in one day,” he shared.

Back in November 2023, Viveck spoke to Bollywood Hungama and revealed about the first time he met SRK. He said, “He was hanging around the last day of the shoot of my film Patthar Ke Phool (1991). I met him by coincidence. He asked me where I was headed. I told him that I was going to Sterling to watch James Cameron’s The Abyss (1989). He expressed the desire to join me. He had no money. We went to the theatre in my car. I bought the tickets in black. I also bought popcorn and cigarettes. When it was time to go home, he asked me for Rs. 100 so that he could hire a cab. I didn’t have 100 bucks as I had spent all my money. I offered to drop him in my car. But there was no gas in the car. I asked him to come to my place so that we could borrow money from my mother. My mother was fast asleep. Hence, I told him to stay for the night. He ended up staying for two years!”
