Saumya Tandon recalls giving “Biggest flop” of her career with Shah Rukh Khan; speaks about his “unadulterated attention”

Actress Saumya Tandon recently opened up about her experience working with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on the reality show Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout. While calling the show the "biggest flop" of her career, Saumya fondly reminisced about her interactions with King Khan, revealing an unexpected side of him that redefined her perception of romance.

Despite Zor Ka Jhatka's lack of success, Saumya cherished the opportunity to share the screen with Shah Rukh Khan. "When I got to know that I am co-hosting with SRK, I thought I have arrived in life," she candidly told Digital Commentary. "But it didn't work. It turned out to be the biggest flop of my career."

However, the experience became much more than just professional. Saumya was struck by Shah Rukh's sharp wit, intelligence, and genuine nature. "He is not just a great actor, he is very witty and intelligent," she said. "Before doing this show I wasn't an ardent SRK fan but it changed when I met him."

Further complimenting his work ethic and humility, Saumya shared a particular anecdote that left a lasting impression. "I remember I had to co-host the show's launch event with Shah Rukh," she recalled. "When I came, he stood up, he didn't have to…he is such a big star. All the CEOs and other important personalities were waiting to meet him but he said, 'This is my time with her.' So, everybody was standing till the time he finished his rehearsal with me. We rehearsed for close to an hour. When he was with me, he was just with me."

In Saumya's eyes, Shah Rukh's attentiveness and respect transcended their co-star status. "Looking into my eyes, making me feel important, giving me respect, time and space. He didn't make me feel that I was a new person," she elaborated. "He asked me two or three times if I wanted to rehearse more, just like any other co-actor. He gives unadulterated attention to you and that makes him the most romantic person because when you get unadulterated attention from a person, you feel you are the most important person for him and that for me is romance."

While Zor Ka Jhatka may not have been a ratings success, the show left a lasting mark on Saumya Tandon.
