During lockdown, there were many films which opted for an OTT release owing to the theatrical restrictions. Among them was Atrangi Re, a unique love triangle, featuring Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush, and Akshay Kumar. Now two years later, as things have become normal and the world has become an open place again, Sara decided to dedicate a post on the film’s release anniversary.
From expressing gratitude to Aanand L Rai to Dhanush, the actress also penned a heartfelt note in the caption. Sharing a photo of different looks of her character Rinku from the film, Sara Ali Khan wrote, “2 years to Atrangi Re <3 From before lockdown, in another time”. She loaded it with multiple emojis from heart to flowers, to a think cloud as she reminisced about the movie. Bihar was Rinkus- she was mine ?? So lucky that @dhanushkraja and @akshaykumar sir and I could align (raising hands emoji) And make something so special, so divine (peace emoji),” she added. Sara concluded by adding, “Thank you @aanandlrai for giving us so much love & making us shine”.

Atrangi Re featured Sara Ali Khan as a carefree, strong girl, who ends up being victim of forced marriage to a medical practitioner, who soon realizes that she is suffering from a mental disorder paracosm. The film marked her first collaboration with Dhanush and Akshay Kumar, and it released on Disney+ Hotstar.
Meanwhile, speaking of her current work commitments, Sara Ali Khan, who was seen in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke this year, is gearing up for the period drama Ae Watan Mere Watan, inspired by real events and Homi Adajania’s Murder Mubarak, co-starring Karisma Kapoor. Both the films are expected to release in 2024.
