It has been 13 years since Rockstar hit the big screen, but for actress Sanjana Sanghi, memories of the film remain as vivid as ever. The movie, which was released on November 11, 2011, marked Sanjana’s debut in the film industry, introducing her as the young and innocent Mandy, the sister of Nargis Fakhri's character, Heer. Reflecting on this milestone, Sanjana shared her heartfelt memories and expressed gratitude for the journey that started with Rockstar.

In a recent post, Sanjana commemorated the anniversary of the film, calling it “the day that changed the course of my life, forever.” She reminisced about her unexpected start in the industry, one that she never anticipated but has since become an integral part of her identity.

Sharing her emotions, she wrote, “13 years later, sitting here having my morning chai in my home in Mumbai, staring at this stunning first print poster up in my living room, from the day of Rockstar’s release - before I rush off to set. Little Mandy may never have been able to visualize this for herself.”

The post reflects the lasting impact of Rockstar on Sanjana, who has since gone on to establish herself in Bollywood, including a breakout role in Dil Bechara (2020). Meanwhile, another actress, who made her Hindi debut with this Ranbir Kapoor film also shared her thoughts on the film. Nargis Fakhri, who shot to fame with her role as Heer in the movie, opened up about the film on its 13-year anniversary and said, “Rockstar was a pivotal turning point in my life, and the experience with pre-production, during shoot and after the release of the film were all impactful experiences that left an indelible impression in my heart and soul.”

Directed by Imtiaz Ali and featuring a memorable soundtrack by A.R. Rahman, Rockstar is often celebrated for its raw portrayal of love, heartbreak, and the price of fame. Ranbir Kapoor's performance as the intense and brooding Jordan remains iconic, while Nargis Fakhri and Sanjana Sanghi brought a unique innocence to the film’s emotional core.
